FEP Tubing
As a member of the fluoropolymer family, FEP Tubing has found a home in applications ranging from environmental monitoring equipment to medical devices and electronics applications. FEP tubing is a clear tubing mainly used to find the bubbles in the tube.
Teflon Tubing
FEP Tubing is often referred to under the trade name “Teflon Tubing”. Teflon is actually three different polymer resins developed by DuPont: FEP, PTFE, and PFA.
Applications
Applications where FEP tubing is chosen usually require more clarity, flexibility or a lower heat shrinkable temperature than PTFE. More information on the properties of FEP resin can be found in our Tech Info section.
Advantages of FEP Tubing
PVC Tubing
This lightweight schedule PVC tubing is easy to handle and is designed for chemical and physical compatibility. The smooth interior surfaces of the tube permit maximum flow rates and minimize accumulation of sediment. It is non-toxic and resistant to bacterial activity. It has superior corrosion resistance, extensive range of chemical resistance, non-contaminating, smooth surface for unrestricted flow, lower sediment accumulation, non-conductive, strong pressure bearing capability, and ease of handling and installation. tube can be sterilized in ethylene oxide and is flame retardant, UL rated 94VO. Recommended for consideration in food and pharmaceutical plants, laboratories, hospitals, electroplating, photofinishing, and chemical installations. The temp range is 33°F to 140°F. It is not UV resistant.
Polyethylene Tubing
A low-density polyethylene produced from 100% virgin resin. It accepts metal and plastic compression fittings. The chemically inert, non-contaminating translucent tubing meets FDA standards. Great for laboratory, hospitals, food and beverage applications. Well suited for use with pneumatic controls, instrumentation and hydraulic applications where its exceptional stability, long life and resistance to corrosion and environmental chemicals enhance system realiability. Colorful and cost efficient and gives a wide selection of color coding for easy circuit traceability and identification.
Silicone Tubing
Silicones tubing has many useful characteristics like low thermal conductivity, flexibility, resistance to microbiological growth and high gas permeability. We use this tubing as the “pinch” for use in our pinch valves
