Overview
MEASSuRE is the first and only research tool that combines extracellular electrophysiology with biomechanics and imaging. MEASSuRE integrates three distinct methods into one system: (1) a cytostretcher, (2) a data acquisition system for electrophysiology, and (3) a live cell imaging system. THREE METHODS IN ONE SYSTEM.
MEASSuRE bridges the gap between in vivo and in vitro research by reproducing the mechanical and electrical environment of cells in vivo in a controlled environment in vitro.

DAQ
DATA ACQUISITION CONFIGURATION
Entry-level model solely for electrophysiological measurements on the cells or tissue. Customers who choose this configuration will get access to a high end data acquisition system at low cost. Due to the modular design, they can upgrade to the MEASSuRE configuration by purchasing the additional components. The interface with the cells/tissue are standard rigid MEAs made onglass. Soft MEAs could be beneficial if the substrate stiffness is an factor in cell growth or differentiation. Standard MEAs and soft MEAs can be procured through BMSEED.
CAPABILITIES
- Electrical recording
- Electrical stimulation
- Soft MEAs on eleastomeric silicone substrates
- Standard MEAs on rigid substrates available
- 2×60 channels
- Low cost

Stretchable MEA
Traditional MEAs are fabricated using glass or other substrates that are rigid and hard, and therefore do not accurately represent the mechanical environment of cells inside the body. In contrast, stretchable MEAs are fabricated on soft elastomeric substrates, and therefore do more accurately represent the mechanical environment of cells inside the body. In addition, BMSEED’s electrodes are stretchable, enabling research on the effect of mechanical deformation on cellular.
In the table below we compare traditional MEAs with stretchable MEAs.
