Overview
The Quartz MicroManifold® (QMM) technology from ALA incorporates quartz micro-capillaries coated with polyimide to make them flexible and damage resistant. Quartz capillaries are used to converge several perfusion inputs into a single output with a dead volume of ~ 90nL. Whether using to focally apply solution or to puff droplets of solution, a QMM allows for reproducible applications while still being low-maintenance.

The inlets allow for quick connection to tubing via the attached silicone sleeves or via optional compression fittings.

Details
The convergence zone is within a silicone sleeve that holds the tip in place and is easily removed. The precise microdimensions yield super fast application times when it is used as an applicator for various agents that need to be applied in rapid succession. Silicone adaptors at the inlets allow for connections to tubing.
Each Quartz MicroManifold® (QMM) is completely inert, durable, easy to clean, and can be mounted in any micromanipulator. QMM’scan be used wherever tiny amounts of liquid (mL to nL volumes) need to flow together to a single output or be directed at a microtarget like an individual cell.
